The aim of the project was to develop a technical solution, together with the preparation of technical documentation for the construction project for the small hydropower plant “MEW” in Poraj (Poland).
The siphon pipeline has been routed through the bank crown and placed in the reinforced concrete channel along dam embankment to the power plant building. Before entering the building, the pipeline DN1400 has been branched into two DN1000 lines, each feeding one of the turbines. In the reinforced concrete building, two turbines has been installed (Kaplan turbines with rotor size of 630mm). After passing turbines, water is guided by a short concrete channel to the riverbed. In the highest point of the pipeline, in the area of bank crown, in-out air ventilation for siphon pipeline has been installed.
